Product Description

Now you can take close-up shots like you never took before. Opteka proudly presents the next HD10X macro lens. Originally designed for dentists and medical use, the HD10X is now available to the public. Unlike current single element lenses, the HD10X has 4 elements of high definition optical glass that provides unbelievable detail. Cameras fitted with normal lenses do not permit us to move closer than a certain minimum distance from the object being photographed. The Close-Up lens, which is simply mounted in the front of our normal taking lens, permits the taking of close-ups and also makes possible the photography of details which would be quite impossible without using the Close-Up lens. The easy to use solution for getting extra close. These lenses enable you to get much closer than the minimum focus of the standard camera lens - as close as 4 inches from the subject. Ideal for cataloging small items and focusing on details.

 "Good for the price." 2009-10-06
By Angela (Mississippi, USA)
It is what it says... it's a very good lens for a very cheap price. I used it for some of my very first pictures and those may still be some of my favorites.

 "Okay, but not great." 2009-06-18
By B. Greenfield
I bought this macro lens along with another set of 1x, 2x, 4x, and 10x macro lens filters and I must say the other set was better. Only having one magnification of 10x left a small range for pictures, while having four different levels of magnification gave me more options. Overall, I wouldn't buy again.

 "good price, but . . ." 2009-04-25
By S. Walker
I jumped when I first saw this price and the lens is ok but not top quality professional, which costs alot more. you need to get very close to your subject, about 2" away to get it in focus. maybe it's my camera (Nikon D40) but I couldn't get this to work the way I wanted. I'm reminded of the old adage "you get what you pay for."

 "A Satisfactory Alternative" 2009-04-14
By MTSOfan
I bought this lens after reading a review on Amazon, and as an alternative to buying a much more expensive macro lens. I've found the results to be very impressive, much better than anything I've had before. Though I cannot compare the macros I'm now taking with those of a Nikkor lens that would mount directly onto the camera, I am quite satisfied.

"Get the fisheye / macro instead" 2009-04-02
By Eagle JT (Pgh, PA)
I just received this lens a few days ago. The quality appears to be good and I can get some pretty good shots, but I also bought the Opteka .35x HD² Super Wide Angle Panoramic Macro Fisheye Lens. This other product also includes a macro lens adaptor. In fact in side by side comparisons the other seems to be better, plus you get the fisheye all for the same price.

Opteka .35x HD² Super Wide Angle Panoramic Macro Fisheye Lens for Nikon D700, D300, D200, D100, D90, D80, D70, D60, D50, D40, D40x, D2HS, D2XS, D3 Digital SLR Cameras

  1. Purchased for teenage daughter to add to her Nikon D60 50MM lens. Works great. Allows her to get very close and improve her macro photography skills and "eye". She has taken some amazing photos with this simple lens attachement.
